Solar Household Energy, Inc. (SHE) was founded in 1998 to introduce solar cooking where it can add quality to life and alleviate stress on the environment. In 2004, SHE completed the design of a breakthrough solar oven, the HotPotTM, to meet the demand for an economical yet durable and powerful alternative cooking device. SHE’s staff is experienced in direct solar cooking instruction and promotion, international project management and commercial enterprise leadership.

The solar cookers in our village
just outside Dakar are not available in sufficient numbers to satisfy
our needs. Many women here use the few we already have, and dream
every day of having their own.
